Young British Muslims tell the Islamic State: #NotInMyName

There’s a new trend taking over the social media pages of young British Muslims, and it’s targeted right at the Islamic State.

As Mic has previously reported, there’s something troubling about calling this terrorist group the “Islamic State,” since they do not accurately represent Islam or Islamic beliefs, but a twisted and perverted interpretation of the global religion.

So to combat this, young activists, led by Britain’s Active Change charity, are telling the terrorists to stop acting under the banner of Islam by circulating the hashtag #NotInMyName and calling out the group for “hiding behind a false Islam.”

The message is clear | Follow micdotcom

And people say moderate Muslims aren’t speaking out against the extremists. Except they totally ARE.

I just had an idea. Why not just have both partners sign sexual contacts before engaging in sex that way if one cries "rape" (like crying wolf) the other can say "Nope you signed" also as a hetro guy I advise you insist on wearing a condom unless you want kids, if she says "I'm on the pill" DO NOT TAKE THE CHANCE! If she has a problem with you wanting to use a condom GTFO. Also put tobasco in the condom before throwing it away as the viniger kills the sperm in it so she cannot sneak a pregnancy

OK I should clarify PUT THE TOBASCO IN AFTER THE SEX.

Since the original article has since been deleted (I can’t imagine why…), you can still view it here.

While ancient Egyptians were, by all accounts, black, the fact remains that their civilization was under foreign rule for the last 340 years before its collapse.  There are literally numerous funerary coffins from that time period—different from a traditional Egyptian sarcophagus—that bore portraits depicting the person inside.  These are referred to as Fayum mummy portraits.  They are clearly a departure from Egyptian practices and artwork, and are considered as direct Roman influence, so yes:  There is quite a lot of evidence as to the Greek and Roman occupation of Egypt.

As for Cleopatra, even her name is of Greek origin.  As mentioned above, she was part of the Ptolemaic dynasty of Greek rulers that served as Egyptian pharaohsThe land would be later ruled over by Romans, Arabs, and Muslims.  It is not known who her mother is, but it is speculated that even her mother may have been part Macedonian, and not fully Egyptian, thus putting even the suggested quarter of Egyptian heritage into question.  While both queens Hapshetsut and Nefertiti were of pure Egyptian lineage, Cleopatra was not.

Or, if you’d like even more information, I’m pretty sure I’ve got a few books around here on the subject.

But seriously:  Please do not make a post about the history of anything unless you are knowledgeable enough about it that you are not presenting a false account of someone else’s civilization.

Oh my god just when I thought when tumblr couldn't get any more ridiculous I read this "food should be free. water should be free. housing should be free. power, fuel, electricity should be free. basic necessities should be free. the idea of “people should have to work for a living” carries the implication that some people deserve to die". If all this was free then who pays the people who gives us all this ? This really takes the cake.

If everything was free there would be nothing left. Because people are greedy.

If you make things hard (ie pricy) to get then people will only take what they need.

…….Water is free tho

You have to pay so your sinks and things, not for the water

Water isn’t free, it’s a service provided by a private company. Certainly in the UK. I know some places in Europe provide free taps in public areas but in general, unless you’re taking it out of a river, water isn’t free.

Thanks for correcting me, but I don’t really see why water should not be free?

The cost is pretty much for the piping and is also combined with sewerage systems. I do agree, especially in hot countries, water being free (check out Rome’s drinking fountains) is a really good idea, but the money has to come from somewhere unfortunately.

As for the tooth decay, yes it is unhealthy but there is very little difference between coke and fruit juices, as long as you’re not drinking it too regularly you don’t have to worry.

I don’t have time to check all of these, but fact check people!

Lets talk about something that EVERYONE avoids talking about on this site. Female sexual aggression. Especially towards OTHER women. Lesbian aggression is actually pretty fucked up. But because of “awesome” things such as the Vagina Monologues it either goes ignored or it’s justified as a “good rape”.

It seems that even lesbian relationships are marked with violence. Domestic abuse in lesbian relationships is very high and it has gone ignored for quite some time (and continues to be ignored). The lesbian community turns a blind eye to this type of aggression.

In Bernhard’s (2000) sample of 215 adult women (136 lesbians and 79 heterosexual women) from a Midwest urban area, nearly 65%of the lesbians and 53% of the heterosexual women reported that they had experienced some type of violence. The women in Bernhard’s (2000) study were generally educated, with lesbians having slightly more education than heterosexual women but reporting lower incomes. Of the participants, 54% of the lesbians had experienced at least one experience of sexual violence and 51% experienced nonsexual physical violence. (source)

What also goes ignored on this site? The level of female perpetrators in sexual abuse cases involving children. For some reason everyone on here wants to turn a blind eye to the level of sexual assault women commit. As it turns out in a national study of 270 day care sexual abuse cases 40% of the perpetrators turned out to be women.

It goes ignored, a lot, and it seems that feminists and feminist theory are one of the many barriers in recognizing abuse, because feminists will find away to justify sexual abuse committed by women, citing things about patriarchy and male dominated society. Plus, with how sexual assault is defined in most places, it’s nearly impossible to actually convict a woman of sexual assault.

The problem is that, this is an actual problem, and it’s being ignored by basically everyone in favor of “TEACH MEN NOT TO RAPE!” and “ONE IN FOUR WOMEN”. Propaganda and faulty statistics about men, specifically, aren’t helping do anything about this rape epidemic feminists keep screaming about if women are actually the huge part of the problem.

No to mention when men who have been raped object to not only being erased from discussions but actually told they are rapists by default, feminists snarl at them to “stop derailing” and “this isn’t about you mra manbabies cry somewhere else” and “lol not all men” or even “men can’t get raped”.  In fact the whole term “rape culture” was meant to describe the sexual climate of most male prisons: where young and attractive inmates are targeted for rape, where gay and trans prisoners are targeted for sexual violence to either humiliate them or out of the assumption they are the closest thing to a woman, that many vunerable inmates (especially young gay or trans prisoners) are forced to become the “prison wives” of powerful inmates, since as the sexual property and concubine of one powerful man, that will save them from constant gang rape (unless another prisoner attempts to show dominance or challenge by raping or attacking another guy’s prison wife of course.)  And how rape can used to punish or humiliate those who break the rules that the inmates set amongst themselves.  People love to joke about prison being a sexual paradise for gay men, but nothing could be further from the truth.   And of course, how guards usually ignore rape in prisons, since the prisoners establishing a pecking order amongst themselves means they are less likely to fight the staff.  In fact, there are quite a lot of reports of staff abusing their power to have sex with, coerce or even rape prisoners:  there is said to bea  high number of female staff molesting young male prisoners in young offender’s institutions.   This was the original defintion of the term “rape culture”.

Feminists saw the term, said “OURS!” and proceeded to make it all about themselves, leaving an widely ignored crisis (the rape climate in men’s prisons) to be ignored the way it always is.   Feminists did not care: they got a new toy to play with at the expense of male victims, male victims who are overwhelmingly of the minorities they claim to care so much about.

Feminist treatment of Erin Pizzey is a perfect example of how feminists treat anyone who dares to say that things like rape, sexual assault, domestic violence and eating disorders are not the “female troubles” feminists desperately like to maintain.

Well for one, look at the lack of notes on this, I mean had this been something “shocking” about men it would have gotten 80k notes in an hour. For two, feminists are absolute queens of derailing and argument and then accusing someone else of doing it. I never, ever see any feminist bring up the fact that lesbian domestic violence, or rape, or female sexual abusers are a problem when they are a huge part of the problem. Why is that? Because feminists don’t think women could commit these crimes? It’s like they live in the mentality of a man from the 1950s “What? A woman rob a bank? Hahahahaha no that’s silly women don’t do bad things” and then yell at people over their own stupidity.

Feminists are absolute queens of derailing, spot on.  Remember when they made a month about prostate cancer all about their pubes and armpit and leg hair instead?  You’ve seen how many times feminists have interrupted me talking about issues concerning gay men to try and make it about how its really just another way straight women are oppressed.  ”Women on grindr catfishing gay men?  Oh its because women are so opressed and slut shamed that they just are curious about the sexual freedom gay men have and male privilege means that gay men need to shut up its not as bad as when straight men do it to lesbians”.   Hell look at the 80,000 note post about how girls not being allowed to wear shorts to school is a crisis on par with homophobia and racism.
